TBUS Ukulele Festival in The District
A fun-filled and educational 2 days for families, couples, and singles of all ages featuring free beginner Ukulele lessons, advanced classes for experienced Ukulele players, continuous music by world class ukulele/ acoustic groups along the streets, face painting; food, drink and merchandise vendors, great restaurants and an exciting early evening concert. Bring your ukulele and strum along! Events lick off Friday night with Jim Beloff teaching a songwriting workshop 6:30 and then Jake Shimabukuro performing at The Capitol Theater at 8pm

Nationally known songwriter, publisher, and performer, Jim Beloff, will lead a fast paced and enjoyable session considering structure, rhyme, title placement, and all the other essentials that make a great song, great. The technique behind several classic songs will be examined and there will be time for performance and critique of original songs from attendees. Lecture notes included, light refreshments served and talk back with Jim Beloff.
Jake Shimbukuro Concert at The Capitol Theater 405 Cleveland Street
Shimabukuro, the most famous, successful, and influential contemporary ukulele virtuoso, will appear Friday night,@ 8pm. Ticket prices range from $25-$48 and are available at RuthEckerdHall.com.

Receive a complimentary three cord songbook with lesson notes. Affordable Kala starter Ukuleles will be available for sale so you can start attending Tampa Bay Ukulele Society (TBUS) events throughout Tampa Bay. Free Classes fill quickly so advance registration is recommended.

Post Concert Jam and Open Mic at Flamboyan Restaurant 528 Cleveland St, Clearwater, FL 33755 Bring your ukulele and talent and perform songs for the crowd. This will be a fun wrap up and is hosted by Tom Hood and friends. Starts after concert around 9pm.
