From our beginning, TBUS has made a commitment to provide a community service program. Today TBUS Cares operates a number of projects, including our free beginner ukulele workshops at libraries and senior citizen centers, donations of ukuleles, books, dvd’s and materials to the libraries, fundraising support to dozens charities and member volunteer hours to support charity projects.
TBUS also provides event entertainment in return for a donation to help support our programs

TBUS Cares provides education and entertainment services as well as fundraising assistance, monetary and in kind donations to dozens of charities, non profit groups, civic organizations, churches, schools, libraries, hospitals and assisted living centers.

TBUS Donated $to Ruth Eckerd/Marcia Hoffman School for purchase of band equipment for students in their music program.
TBUS collected food and donated to CASA to assist women and children in their 100 bed shelter
TBUS purchased strings and our volunteers repaired and restrung 50 Ukuleles for BC Graham Elementary
TBUS loaned 20 Ukuleles and provided training material to Hope Children’s home for a 1 month music program
TBUS has donated to Metropolitan Ministries to provide Thanksgiving and Holiday meals for the homeless in Tampa Bay Area in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022. Over 20,000 meals donated to date
TBUS has collected toys and donations to support Toys for Tots at December Open Mic and Jams in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022. Over 2500 toys donated to date
TBUS Cares provides ukulele entertainment as a community service by tapping talent from our member base. Performances are paid via a donation to The Tampa Bay Ukulele Society which in turn helps us support our events and more charitable services to the local community.
TBUS Cares has purchased and donated over 100 ukuleles, books, strings, tuners and dvds to to libraries and schools in the Tampa Bay Area to put this wonderful instrument into adults and children hands.
TBUS Cares volunteers teach introduction to ukulele workshops at over 40 library and senior citizen centers in Pinellas, Hernando, Pasco & Hillsborough. To date Over 10000 attendees have completed our free workshops.
TBUS is a sponsor for the WMNF Uke it Out Festival and has helped the radio station raise funds in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022
